Aims and Values

Mission statement

Dunchurch Boughton CE VA Junior School aims to be a welcoming, friendly and caring inclusive village school.

We are committed to working in partnership with Parents, Governors and the Church to enable pupils to develop a lifelong passion for learning and achieving the highest standards socially, emotionally and academically. We are committed to providing a happy, safe, supportive and motivating environment where all pupils are valued; and in which pupils can develop the knowledge, skills, understanding and attitudes needed to lead a fulfilling life today and in the future.

As a Church of England Voluntary Aided school under the Coventry Diocesan Board of Education, Dunchurch Boughton CE VA Junior School has formally adopted the following ethos statement for Church of England Schools:

Recognising its historic foundation, the School will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with the Church at parish and diocesan level.

The Christian faith, especially kindness, patience, honesty, forgiveness, peace, generosity and thankfulness form a major part of the whole school ethos. The school aims to give children both the knowledge and understanding of the Christian faith while respecting and understanding other religions and cultures.

Our Vision

For all children to become inspired, motivated, independent learners achieving their full potential, within a Christian context. To create an environment where everyone feels valued, considers the needs of others and always tries their best.

Our Christian Vision for the school

Our Christian Vision for the school is from the bible section Matthew 7:7: Ask, Seek, Knock

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

Our Aims

  • To ensure that all children receive their entitlement to a broad, balanced National Curriculum, encouraging them to have high expectations in all areas of the curriculum and to reach their full potential.
  • To provide a secure and relaxed environment in which the children are encouraged to be tolerant and to grow in confidence and self esteem.
  • To ensure that pupils develop an open and enquiring mind and are encouraged to be creative, imaginative and inventive.
  • To work in partnership with parents and the wider community.
