All pupils take reading and spelling tests at the beginning of each academic year. In addition, during the school year, teachers make their own assessment of children’s achievement in the normal course of teaching and learning, to cover the full range of the National Curriculum.

In Year 6, at the end of Key Stage 2, pupils also take part in the End of Key Stage Statutory Assessments in Mathematics, Reading and Spelling, Grammar and Puncuation, to enable teachers and parents to assess whether pupils are reaching the considered national standards.
