Discipline and Pastoral Care                               Back

The school expects a high standard of tolerance, good manners and endeavour.  Pastoral care is normally the responsibility of the class teacher but all members of staff take an interest in all of the children within the school.

The school aims to develop high standards in both attitude to work, behaviour and appearance.  It seeks to create good relationships between teachers and pupils through mutual respect.  Self-discipline and a sense of responsibility are encouraged within a framework of simple rules, designed to promote honesty, safety, care, courtesy, consideration and sensitivity to the needs of others.

In the case of persistent misbehaviour, parents will be advised with the view to working together towards a solution.  In exceptional circumstances the school reserves the right to exclude a pupil.

We have a house system and house points are awarded for good work, effort or social skills and, in addition, we have a ‘Star of the week’. This is a child who has demonstrated all round effort and achievement during the preceding week.  There is also a reward and sanction system operated by the Midday Supervisors.

Parents are welcomed to celebration assemblies where ‘Stars’ are acknowledged.

A home / school contract will be sent to you for completion when your child starts school.
