The school has strong links with the local community and the Parent Teacher Association plays a very active part in developing liaison between the staff, pupils, Governors, parents and friends of the school. Although the Association raises substantial funds to help finance school projects, it is not intended as being purely a fundraising instrument. A whole range of regular and varied social functions are arranged to help strengthen the bond between parents and school.

The committee usually meets once every 6 weeks at the school and the meeting lasts for about an hour. They make decisions about forthcoming events and how funds are spent.

The PTA are always looking for willing volunteers to help with events, from serving refreshments at the school disco to decorating Santa's grotto for the Christmas Fayre. If you have any hidden talents or ideas that could be used for fundraising activities, or could spare any time to help (even if you cannot attend PTA meetings), the PTA would love to hear from you. Please contact the school office for a slip to fill in and return to school or email: shaw37@ntlworld.com. You do not have to commit yourself to every event or meeting, any time you could spare would be greatly appreciated, however short.

The PTA have fundraised in the past year and have managed to provide playground equipment, new leather footballs and wet-play boxes for each class filled with loads of games and toys.  We treated our Year 6 Leavers to a personalized autograph book each and a summer barbeque.  When our caretaker retired in July the PTA gave him a gold watch to thank him for all his hard work.  And we bought a Flip camera for each class which the children enjoy using.

This is a photo of each class teacher getting their Flip cameras bought by the PTA.  The Children can use these easily themselves and have already used them quite a lot. They take video and still photos.

We’ve also funded some furniture for the ICT suite which is going to be upgraded very soon.

This is a fantastic achievement and wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of the PTA and generous support from families and friends.

The PTA would like to thank parents for their continued support and hope you can help raise more much needed funds during this year.
