Blue Peter Appeal

On 18th November the PTA held a T-shirt customizing session for the Blue Peter appeal, ‘Send-a-Smile’. Just 50 of these T-shirts used as hospital gowns will pay for one cleft palette operation for poor children in India a short 45 minute operation which will change a child’s life.  Visit www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc for more information. The customizing session was a huge success.  The children, who were brilliant during the session, decorated 113 T-shirts which will cover the cost of two operations!  Thanks go to the members of the PTA who organized the whole event, the children who helped them and everyone who supported the event.

This term, children at Dunchurch Junior School have filled shoeboxes with gifts for Operation Christmas child. Operation Christmas Child is an initiative of the Samaritan's Purse charity, which works with churches, schools, orphanages and other non-governmental organisations to hand deliver the shoeboxes to children in need in Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, regardless of their background or beliefs. Thanks to the support of parents and children we have managed to collect more than 130 shoeboxes.
