Ricky's Fun and Fitness Dance Club

Run by Ricky Brown

This is a popular club with an emphasis on fun and encouraging fitness. Each week children learn a dance routine to a current hit song. The routines incorporate balance, rhytmn and co-ordination.

 

Football: Coventry City Community Scheme

Run by coaches from Coventry City

Skills demonstrations and practise - passing, dribbling, shooting etc. Mini games and mini tournaments.

Netball

Run by: Mrs Fisher

Teaching of netball skills (passing and catching) through demonstrations, practices and mini games. Children learn a variety of positions and tactics.

 

Gardening

Run by: Mrs Miller

Practical gardening activities - planting, hoeing, weeding, improving the wildlife area with different types of plants, general maintenance and upkeep of the garden area. As well as practical skills, children learn knowledge of different plants. Children do internet research if weather is poor.

 

Imagineering

Run by: Mrs Harrison and Mr Freeman

Children introduced to a range of engineering principles and applications through informal learning and hands-on construction of models. Aims to encourage enthusiasm for engineering and science amongst children.

 

Orchestra

Run by: Mrs Blezard

Children develop ensemble playing skills i.e. discipline, rhythmic accuracy, counting, following a part.

 

Chess

Run by: coaches from 'Chess Rocks'

Children learn to pay chess, syllabus incorporating the English Chess Federation Certificate of Excellence. Improves children's concentration, problem solving abilities and social skills. Fee includes a membership badge, chess booklet, all competition/ ladder prozes. UK Chess Challenge entry for all children in the Spring, mascots etc given throughout the year as incentives.
