Geography Back
Geography is the study of the earth’s surface and it explores the relationship between the earth and its peoples. It helps children to understand the human and physical forces that shape the environment. Children are naturally interested in their immediate surroundings and they also want to know about places beyond their direct experience.
Our aims in Geography are: -
to stimulate pupils’ interest in their surroundings and in the variety of physical and human conditions on the earth’ surface
to foster their sense of wonder at the beauty of the world around them
to help children to develop an informed concern about the quality of the environment and the future of the human habitat and thereby enhance their sense of responsibility for the care of the earth and its peoples.
We include the opportunity for children to undertake fieldwork as part of their work in Dunchurch, Rugby, North Wales and France. North Wales and France are studied through a residential visit.
