Awards and Achievements
ARTSMARK GOLD
Artsmark is a national award scheme managed by Arts Council England that recognises schools with a high level of provision in the arts. This includes drama, art and design, dance and music. The award recognises the opportunities for pupils to take part in creative lessons and the opportunities provided after school. By gaining an Artsmark, the school shows its commitment to the wider development of young people and teachers and to raising the profile of the arts in the school and local community.
ACTIVEMARK
This award recognises that the school delivers a high level of provision, creates many opportunities for pupils to take part in physical exercise and is committed to working in partnership with recognised providers to develop staff and pupils expertise.
Healthy School award
Healthy Schools are schools which meet a standard in providing a curriculum and programmes which supports the links between health, behaviour and achievement. They are schools which set out to create healthy and happy children and young people, who do better in learning and in life.
The impact of our programme is based on a whole-school approach to physical and emotional well-being focused on four core themes:
- Personal, Social & Health Education
- Healthy Eating
- Physical Activity
- Emotional Health & Wellbeing
International Schools award
This award is given in recognition of the contribution to the curriculum of links between our school and schools abroad. We seek to provide pupils with opportunities to communicate with our partner school – Majoor School in India as well as with other schools in France and Israel. The aim is to give pupils the opportunity to see issues from a different perspective and to build links between the schools.
Rugby in Bloom Award
This was given in recognition of the work put in by the school gardening club led by Mrs Miller. Over time a school environmental area with pond has been created, (with massive help from the PTA). An allotment has been planted and maintained, and other planted areas maintained and tended to.
